The Hyundai ix20 will cost from £11,595 when it goes on sale on November 8

Hyundai's new ix20 mini-MPV will cost from £11,595, when it goes on sale on November 8.

Entry-level Classic
That's almost identical to the price of the closely related Kia Venga, and will buy a Classic-trim model with a 1.4-litre petrol engine. This comes with the full safety kit – stability control, six airbags and active head restraints – as well as a height-adjustable driver's seat, air-conditioning, and a radio/CD stereo with aux/MP3 inputs.

Active trim
For a further £1100, you can step up to Active trim, which adds alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles and mirrors (which are electrically adjustable and heated) and reversing sensors, while inside you get Bluetooth, electric rear windows and steering-wheel-mounted stereo controls.

Style trim
Top-of-the-range Style models cost another £1000 on top of Active trim, and add a panoramic glass sunroof, front foglights and electrically folding mirrors with integrated indicators.

As well as the 1.4-litre petrol engine, there are also a 1.4-litre diesel engine – which costs £1400 more than the petrol unit – and a 1.6-litre petrol that comes only with an automatic gearbox.

Whatever combination of engine and trim you choose, the only option is metallic paint (at £395).
