Subaru's Impreza WRX model will go on sale in November priced at £19,995 - £1102 less than the previous version.

The 227bhp 2.5-litre-engined car travels from 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds.

It features 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, side skirts, a rear bumper diffuser, a 10-speaker, six CD audio system and uprated headlights over the RX trim.

Buyers will have to move fast, because only between 350 and 400 WRXs will be made available in the UK this year. Thereafter, sales will be limited to 1000 models a year.

The range-topping WRX STI will go on sale in spring 2008, with sales restricted to 1500 cars a year.
