Here is a tantalising glimpse of Infiniti's new saloon.
The new version will be the first M to be sold in Europe, but the third-generation of the car.
Slotting in above the G37 saloon, the M will be a rival for cars such as the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz .
A 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine is confirmed, but the M is likely to get a V8 petrol option, too.
Diesel and hybrid power likely
Diesel and hybrid petrol/electric versions are also expected.
The 3.0-litre diesel engine used in the Renault Laguna is likely to be available in the M, thanks to Infiniti's parent company, Nissan, having an alliance with the French manufacturer.
UK prices and an on-sale date have yet to be confirmed, but Infiniti says it will release more pictures and information at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California on August 15.
