Renault's electric car future - driven - Introduction
If you commute into a city or large town, it's likely that you'll find yourself driving some form of electric car sooner rather than later.
Even if you're still allowed to take a fossil-fuelled car into the local metropolis, the costs of entering and parking will become prohibitively expensive.
Doubters need only study last weekend's report to the Government from a green think-tank. It wants to see huge tax increases on 'high-carbon activities' in return for cuts in other forms of taxation.
Renault intends to be ready to cash in. Along with its partner Nissan, the company aims to establish global leadership in electric car production, and will have three models in showrooms by the end of 2012.
All three of these electric vehicles were revealed in concept car form at September's Frankfurt motor show – and now we've driven them. Get ready for the future.
