In our latest 'big 'nterview', whatcar.com talks to Walter de Silva, head of design for the Volkswagen Group.

The story so far…
Walter de Silva started his working life with Fiat, but made his first big design impact with the Alfa Romeo 147 and 156.

He was then headhunted to revitalise the Seat brand, after which he took charge of Audi and Lamborghini design.

The Audi A5 was the last individual model designed by de Silva before he was appointed head of group design in February 2007.

That promotion put him in charge of Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda and, last but not least, Volkswagen design.
