Jaguar is likely to grow its XF range with a new estate and this computer-generated image shows what it could look like.
It’s a likely addition to the family as part of an ambitious expansion plan that Jaguar Land Rover promised at the Geneva motor show in March.
The Audi A6 Avant, BMW 5 Series Touring and Mercedes Estate are all established models, so Jaguar would not need to create a new market for such a car.
It will also deliver Jaguar’s promise to make better, more cost-effective use of each platform. Currently, the company has nine cars on eight different platforms.
The ’ platform could also be used for a coupe, as could the XJ’s (as shown in the gallery). A new X-type is also likely – Jaguar can ill afford to be out of the competitive compact executive class – and the platform for that could be also used for an often-discussed small XE roadster and coupe.
