Jaguar has revealed pictures of its forthcoming XK Convertible at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new soft-top will go on sale next year, a few months after the coupe's launch in March. Prices are yet to be announced, but expect them to start north of £60,000.
The XK Convertible will use the same aluminium construction as the new coupe. It is lighter than its predecessor as a result, so should be quicker and more nimble.
Like the outgoing model, it has a traditional cloth roof, which folds away electrically in less than 18 seconds, and has a pair of aluminium hoops that spring into action to protect occupants in the event of flipping over in a rollover accident.
From launch, a 300bhp 4.2-lire V8 engine will be available, which takes the car to 60mph in just 6.0sec. Top speed is an electronically limited 155mph. Faster XKR versions of the car are also in the pipeline.
