Jaguar XKR - the fastest Jaguar ever - Introduction

30 June 2006
You're looking at the quickest and most powerful Jaguar XK ever - the new 420bhp XKR.

Made of lightweight aluminium and powered by a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine, it is, says Jaguar, 'the ultimate sports GT for the real world'.

It can cover standstill to 60mph in 4.9sec and complete the 50-70mph overtaking burst in 2.5sec.

Yet with 22.9mpg touring economy and a 71-litre fuel tank, it has a potential range of well over 300 miles between fuel stops.

Jaguar says it straddles the gap between impractical out-and-out supercars and overweight, sedate tourers.
