Legendary spy James Bond is set to return to Aston Martin in his latest film, Casino Royale.
Bond, played by Daniel Craig, renews his acquaintance with Aston Martin when he gets behind the wheel of a new car to be called the DBS.
Details of the car are being kept secret for now, but Aston chairman Dr Ulrich Bez did say that 'we have built him something special to enable him to do his job in style.'
James Bond began his association with Aston Martin back in 1964, in the film Goldfinger. The car, a silver DB5, came with significant optional extras, including ejector seats, machine guns, rockets and tyre-shredding wheel hubs.
This DB5 made a further appearance in 1965's Thunderball, while a DBS appeared in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) and briefly in Diamonds are Forever (1971). A DBS V8 Vantage also starred in 1987's The Living Daylights.
The DB5 returned in 1995's Goldeneye and again in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997). The most recent Bond film, Die Another Day (2002), featured Aston Martin's flagship model, the Vanquish.
