As the Mazda 6 fast approaches a year in my ownership, looking back I'm pleased we went for the 17-inch wheels with higher profile tyres instead of the racy 19-inch alloys.

The road noise which other drivers reported on the smaller wheels hasn't bothered me, and if anything the ride has improved with age. With the constant rain and poor road conditions we have had lately, the tyres which are now nearly 14,000 miles old still have plenty of grip and life left in them.

The powers that be haven't confirmed yet the next car they've got lined up to replace the Mazda on my driveway: but I hope it will give me as much enjoyment as the 6 has.
