JD Power Survey 2005 - Verdict

14 April 2005
Once again Japanese makes dominate the top end of the table, with Lexus, Honda, Toyota and Mazda all appearing in the top 10.

With no fewer than eight of the top 15 individual models hailing from Japan, it seems that these manufacturers do the most to ensure you get an enjoyable and satisfying ownership experience.

However, it’s not just cars from the Far East that bring smiles to their owners’ faces. Models from the Czech Republic (Skoda), Germany (BMW and Audi) and Sweden (Volvo, Saab) also rank among the top 20 cars in the JD Power Customer Satisfaction Index.

As with previous years, buying a prestige badge is no guarantee that you’ll get miles of hassle-free motoring. Mercedes again lies below the industry average, while Skoda, Volkswagen’ budget brand, sits proudly in second place. However, Volkwagen itself only manages 16th place.
