Jeep's new Patriot 4x4 will go on sale in the UK from £15,995.

It will come in two trims - the Patriot Sport and Patriot Limited - and will be sold in the UK from July. It will go on sale with a VW-sourced 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual, or a 168bhp 2.4-litre petrol engine. The petrol engine comes with either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.

Safety features include side curtain airbags and a new part-time four-wheel-drive system that switches from front- to four-wheel drive in corners or if you lose traction.

Options also include a full-time four-wheel drive-system with a low-ratio transfer gear, increased ground clearance, skid plates and hill-descent control.
