Jeep has just finished refreshing or replacing its entire four-model line-up (Compass, Wrangler, Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee) for the UK, but it is already looking forward to further replacements and additions that will be phased in over the next three years.

Four to become six
By 2014, the range will have grown to six, with new models to make Jeep accessible to buyers on smaller budgets and to plug the gap between the most expensive Wrangler Unlimited and the Grand Cherokee.

The bulk of the activity will happen in 2013. That’s when the company will introduce a new model to replace the current Cherokee/Liberty, which is not sold in the UK.

There will also be one newcomer to take the place of the current Compass and Patriot, which share common underpinnings but offer different degrees of off-road capability.

Supermini-sized 4x4
Then, towards the end of 2013, or early in 2014, Jeep will introduce a supermini-sized 4x4, almost certainly based on a platform from its alliance partner, Fiat. Jeep claims there will be a version of this car with best-in-class off-road ability.
