Ssangyong Korando review
So where did that year go?
On Saturday I joined the ranks of parents crisscrossing the national motorway network to pick up their precious offspring after a year at university. In my case that meant a round trip from West London to Manchester, approximately 430 miles.
In order to clear a student room you need a strong stomach and a suitable-sized motor, and the Korando proved just the job.
What it lacks in ride quality and finesse, it makes up for in practicality. With the rear seats down it easily swallowed a year's worth of washing (and washing up), and I must say I do enjoy the elevated driving position that you get with an SUV. The Korando even returned just over 40mpg.
All in all a successful trip. Not quite first class with honours, but a good effort.
