Kia has added a 142bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine to its Carens MPV range.
The engine is available with the flagship LS trim, and comes with a choice of a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox.
With the manual gearbox, the car has a top speed of 118mph and a 0-62mph time of 11.0sec. Carbon dioxide emissions are 200g/km, which puts it in the second-most expensive grouping, band F, for road tax (£210 per year).
In auto form, the engine powers the Carens to a top speed of 112mph and accelerates from 0-62mph in 11.9sec. It emits 193g/km of carbon dioxide, also putting it in band F for road tax.
Prices start from £15,050 for the manual and £16,050 for the automatic, and both come with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
