The three-door Kia Proceed hatchback is available to order now from £17,495.
It joins the five-door Ceed hatchback and Sportswagon, while hot GT-badged versions of the Ceed and Proceed will go on sale later in the summer.
Two engines are available in the Proceed – a 133bhp 1.6-litre GDi petrol and a 126bhp 1.6-litre diesel. Both come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a six-speed automatic gearbox is fitted on the range-topping petrol model.
The diesel does an average economy of 74.3mpg and emits just 100g/km of CO2 in basic S trim. SE trim does 65.7mpg and emits 112g/km, because of larger wheels and longer gear ratios on first, second and sixth gears.
These longer gear ratios also affect the Proceed's performance; the diesel in S trim gets from 0-62mph in 11.5 seconds, while the SE does it in 10.5 seconds.
The £17,495 starting price buys the petrol engine in S trim, which brings air-conditioning, Bluetooth, automatic lights, parking sensors, cruise control and Kia's three-mode adjustable steering as standard.
SE trim upgrades to 17-inch alloys, a touchscreen sat-nav system and reversing camera, automatic wipers with a built-in de-icer function, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry and start.
The Kia Proceed is available to order now, with deliveries from the end of March.
