Kia snaps up Audi TT designer

31 July 2006

Expect the next generation of Kia cars to be the company's best-looking yet, as Kia has just hired the man who designed the original Audi TT.

Peter Schreyer, formerly Volkswagen's advanced design boss and designer of the original Audi TT, will now head Kia's own worldwide design operation from September 1.

Schreyer forged his reputation during his eight years at Audi, will help Kia to create a stronger family identity for Kia, and make its styling more attractive to European buyers.

Employing Schreyer will be seen as a coup for Kia, the UK arm of which was the fastest-growing car brand in Britain last year.
