The all-new Land Rover Freelander will cost from just under £21,000 when it goes on sale at the end of the year.

The new Freelander comes with a choice of either a new 2.2-litre diesel engine or a 3.2-litre petrol.

Fitted with the diesel engine, developed by Ford and Peugeot-Citroen, the new Freelander comes with a choice of five trim levels: S, GS, XS, SE and HSE.

S-trimmed vehicles cost from £20,935; top HSE spec costs from £30,935.

Choose the 3.2-litre petrol and you get four trim levels: GS, XS, SE and HSE. GS models start at £26,490, rising to £33,990 for HSE cars.

All prices include the cost of off-setting the car's carbon dioxide emissions. Land Rover announced in July that it would run a trial scheme to off-set the CO2 emissions of all its vehicles sold in 2007. The off-set cost is a delete option, so you can specify not to pay it. It costs from around £85 but is dependent on the model chosen.
