Latest crash-test results - Introduction

The Mazda 5 MPV and Fiat's forthcoming Grande Punto supermini have both scored a maximum five-star overall rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.

Mazda earned three out of five stars for its ability to protect child occupants, but just two out of four for its ability to minimise injuries suffered by pedestrians.

The Punto, which goes on sale early next year, managed three out of a possible five stars for its child protection, and three out of four stars for pedestrian safety.
