Latest crash tests: six makers tested - Renault Laguna

19 December 2007
Renault's new Laguna has narrowly missed out on the highest-ever score for adult protection in the latest Euro NCAP safety tests.

The Laguna scored maximum points for side protection and lost only fractional points for front protection because the area around the driver's right leg suffered in the impact.

However, it lost a point because a rear door sprung open during the side-impact test.

The Laguna also scored maximum points for child occupant protection, but lost marks for poor indication of whether the front passenger airbag was on.

However, the car was criticised because the bonnet offered no protection for pedestrians and scored two stars in this area.
