Latest crash tests: six makers tested - Volvo V70

19 December 2007
As with the Mazda 2, Euro NCAP testers found problems with the V70's airbags during testing. In this case, the curtain airbags deployed too slowly in side impacts.

The V70 was resubmitted for testing after changes to the system had been made, but testers found that the problem remained.

Volvo has now recalled all models to ensure that the problem is fixed.

The car scored five stars for adult protection, four for child protection and two for pedestrian protection.
