Loads bigger: the new C-Class estate - Introduction

Friday, August 31, 2007
We've already got the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class saloon, and next summer the estate version is set to join it on the forecourt.

The car will be shown for the first time at this year's Frankfurt motor show, but UK buyers will have to wait until launch before prices are confirmed.

The signs are that it will be worth waiting for, though. The C-Class estate was always extremely comfortable, refined and practical - and it looks like the estate will take another leap forward, just like the saloon.

There's more space, a better range of equipment and a promised improvement in its predecessor's bugbear: the quality of trim materials.

The driving experience is also said to be improved, offering more direct steering and reactive suspension that adapts to road conditions and driving styles.

An AMG sports package with sports suspension is also an option.
