Anyone who drove into London's Congestion Charge zone on Monday, February 2, will have the fee waived.
The announcement was made by Mayor Boris Johnson, who said that motorists shouldn't have to pay because the public transport system was crippled by snow.
Speaking on Radio 4’s World at One, Mr Johnson said it would be unfair to charge drivers who had struggled through the snow and ice.
London's entire bus service was out of action and all but one tube line had delays and suspended services, leaving many with little option but to drive.
