One of the UK’s largest motor retail groups, Lookers, is set to expand further after announcing it is buying Bramall and Jones VW Limited in a £2 million deal.
The company comprises two Volkswagen businesses and a contract hire and leasing company.
A Lookers statement said: 'This will increase our representation of Volkswagen from nine to 11 outlets. In addition, it gives us an entry into the contract hire market with an experienced management team and a fleet of approximately 1500 vehicles.'
The deal is expected to be completed on May 1 and is subject to shareholder approval because 51% of the company is owned by Tony Bramall, who is also a director of Lookers.
The deal will not affect the rights of anyone who has bought a car from the sold dealerships, or who leases a car through Bramall and Jones.
Pendragon remains the UK's largest car retailer group.
