Lower servicing costs for Ford owners

Owners of Ford cars registered this year can look forward to lower servicing bills, thanks to more durable components, the company claims.
Improvements to how long key components last has meant that Ford has been able to reduce workshop labour times, because fewer parts now require regular checks. This has allowed Ford revise intervals for routine services in all vehicles registered in 2006.
Specifically, the changes mean there's less work required on the first service and in alternate services, although service intervals remain unchanged at 12 months or 12,500 miles.
The savings could mean savings of up to £169 over a three-year period (62,500 miles) for cars such as the Ford Focus 1.6-litre petrol model, or £154 on 1.6-litre TDCi models. Ford Mondeo owners could expect savings of £97 on Mondeo 2.0-litre petrol models, or £118 on diesel vehicles over the same period.
