The outgoing car had lost ground to the
BMW X5 and Land Rover Discovery, but its replacement is bang up to date. While it’s not as rugged as before, there are big improvements in comfort and on-road refinement. For those who want to venture into the rough, an off-road pack will be optional.
A range of new petrol and diesel engines is more powerful but no less frugal than the old line-up, while a seven-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the range.
Inside, there’s more space for passengers than before, while the quality of build and materials takes a big step forward.
