Mazda has released the first pictures of its 3 MPS, the hot-hatch version of its small family car.
Fitted with the same 2.3-litre engine as the 6 MPS saloon, the 3 MPS (Mazda Performance Series) looks likely to be one of the most powerful hot hatches on the market.
The company has yet to release performance details for the 3, but the power output is likely to be around 250bhp, just short of the 257bhp in the 6 saloon. Unlike the 6 MPS, however, the 3 MPS is built in front-wheel-drive only.
Also due at the Geneva show is the Kabura concept, a sporty-looking coupe first seen at last month's Detroit Motor Show – it's even smaller than a Mazda MX-5. You can also see a Mazda 5 Hydrogen RE Hybrid concept, which uses a dual-fuel Rotary engine that can run on hydrogen or petrol, and an electric motor.
