Mazda's new hot hatch, the 3 MPS will cost from £18,995 when it goes on sale in February.
That puts the 3 MPS in the same price bracket as Vauxhall's Astra VXR, but around £1500 more than our favourite hot hatch, the Skoda Octavia vRS and £1300 less than the benchmark Golf GTI.
The 3 MPS is the most powerful of these three, with its 2.3-litre engine producing 256bhp. It can go from 0-62mph in 6.1sec and on to a top speed of 155mph.
The car gets 18-inch alloy wheels, its unique MPS branded seats with leather trim, climate control, leather steering wheel and CD changer.
Safety kit includes electronic stability control, traction control and six airbags.
A £500 Sports Styling Pack will also be offered which adds on a larger rear spoiler and lowered suspension. The 3 MPS is available in four colours, three of which cost £325 extra.
