Mazda CX-7 prepares for British launch

06 June 2007

Mazda has released details of the fine-tuning it has had to do to prepare its CX-7 4x4 for its British launch in September.

The five-seater car has already been launched in North America and Japan, but Mazda has made changes to the ride, handling, suspension, steering and brakes to suit European tastes. Alterations have also been made to the anti-lock brakes and stability control, while road and wind noise are claimed to have been improved.

The car's turbocharged 2.3-litre petrol engine produces 258bhp and 280lb ft of pulling power, and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox whose ratios have been set for European roads. There will also be a turbodiesel engine option, but not until 2008.

Prices will start from £23,960.
