Replacing the current MX-5 with a new model was always going to be difficult for Mazda – the outgoing version is still an excellent car.
But the Japanese maker hasn’t disappointed, instead producing an even more sparkling roadster that remains simple and true to the original, following the principles of its forebear.
Its excellent weight distribution, rear-wheel-drive configuration and willing engines all add up to a thoroughly enjoyable car.
