This new Mazda 6 MPS is the fastest saloon the company has ever built.
Priced at £23,950, the MPS (Mazda Performance Series) churns out 256bhp, from its 2.3-litre engine. The new car comes with an all-wheel-drive system as standard.
That makes it good for 0-62mph in 6.6sec and a top speed of 150mph. Combined fuel consumption isn't too bad at 27.7mpg, but its emissions mean you will find the MPS in the top 35% company car tax band.
Standard equipment includes stability and traction control, 18-inch alloy wheels, sporty body kit, front, side and curtain airbags, climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery and a six-CD seven-speaker Bose sound system.
The 2.3-litre engine from the 6 MPS will also be shoehorned into the Mazda 3 later this year. Power output is likely to drop a little, but at around 250bhp, it will be one of the most powerful hot hatches around.
