Tokyo motor show highlights - Mazda Takeri
The Takeri showcases Mazda’s latest ‘Kodo’ design language (‘Soul of Motion’). It will give the next 6 much more dramatic looks, with a lot of body surfacing, a coupé-like roofline, and a particularly sharp front end, with a distinctive grille.
The concept uses Mazda’s latest 2.2-litre diesel engine; the firm claims the car emits just 104g/km of CO2, a sign that the next-gen 6 could well be at the sharp end of its class on fuel efficiency and emissions.
With the impressive CX-5 on the way, fuel-saving Skyactiv technology being introduced, and the potential for the next 6 to look this good, Mazda has a definite buzz about it at the moment. All it needs to do now is get a move on with the next MX-5.
