Ferrari will launch the awesome F430 supercar in the UK next year to replace the 360 Modena.
Its 4.3-litre V8 engine produces 83bhp more than the 360’s, with an output of 483bhp.
Although that’s slightly less power than the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Ferrari’s lower weight means it is faster, sprinting to 62mph in 4.0sec. That’s 0.2sec swifter than the Gallardo and half a second quicker than the 360. Top speed is 196mph.
Owners will be able to change the dynamic set-up of the car via a steering wheel-mounted switch. High-performance ceramic disc brakes and a super-fast paddle-shift gearbox will be options.
The new car has a deeper front spoiler and bigger air intakes than the 360, while the rear end of the car is far more aggressive, with a large diffuser to increase downforce at high speeds.
The two-seater F430 will be launched in coupe during the first half of 2005, followed by Spider soft-top model later in the year. The range is likely to cost between £115,000 and £120,000.
