Megane Renaultsport 250 launched

Renault has revealed prices and specifications for its new Megane Renaultsport 250.
The Megane is the latest model to get the Renaultsport treatment recently given to the Twingo and Clio.
Two sporty models
The latest Renaultsport will be available in two versions, both with a 247bhp 2.0-litre engine.
The Megane Renaultsport 250 Cup has a chassis tuned for exhilarating performance, while the Megane Renaultsport 250 adds more equipment and uses the standard sport chassis.

As well as the sportier chassis, the Cup model comes with cruise control, automatic door locking, electric heated door mirrors and an MP3-compatible CD player. Bluetooth is also standard, as are rear parking sensors.
Safety kit includes stability control, eight airbags and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
The Cup suspension pack includes a limited-slip differential, stiffer springs and and anti-roll bar. The 18-inch alloy wheels are black, and encase red brake calipers.
Megane Renaultsport Cup models will cost 21,995.
Megane Renaultsport 250
Luxury equipment on this model includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, electric adjustment for the driver's seat, dual-zone climate control and automatic lights and wipers. The rear side widows and tailgate are also tinted.
Prices start at 22,995, but customers can add the Cup suspension pack for 1950.
A wide range of personalisation options are available on the cars, including 19-inch alloy wheels, sat-nav, a fixed glass roof and front parking sensors.
When can I order one?
Renault will be taking orders for both versions from November 1, with the first deliveries in January 2010.
