Mercedes-Benz has opened its biggest ever 'brand experience' site in Surrey.
Built on the site of the world's oldest purpose-built racing circuit at Brooklands in Surrey, the new facility includes a three-story showroom that displays over 100 vehicles.
Potential owners will also be able to try some of the Mercedes range on a 1.5-mile handling circuit and a 10-acre off-road course.
As well as the showroom element, the facility contains a 3D simulator ride called 'Build' that takes you along the production line of a CLK. There's also 'Solve', an interactive problem-solving laboratory, a picture gallery, dedicated 'KidsZone', gourmet restaurant, shops and a café.
Mercedes expects to attract 300,000 visitors a year to the new showroom. Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler UK, said, "Mercedes-Benz World is not just for petrolheads. It has been designed with the whole family in mind.'
Other plans for the site include a 60-acre community park that will be handed back to the local council for public use, the restoration of some of the original Brooklands circuit, a hotel and close co-operation with the Brooklands museum.
Mercedes-Benz World is now open from 10am to 7pm, seven days a week (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Admission is free, but there will be additional charges for Driving Experience Packages..
