The interior has four individual sports seats and Mercedes says high quality materials have been used throughout, including leather, wood, woven fabrics and aluminium.
The cabin, Mercedes says, has been inspired by the world of equestrianism.
The boot space is approximately one metre square, with a floor made of wood and brushed aluminium.
At its centre is a smoked glass table that can emerge at the touch of a button, and which houses a humidor for cigars, a fridge and drinks glasses storage space. The table top can be folded up to make space for people to sit around it and enjoy a picnic.
Such details which are unlikely to be seen on production models, but they do underline the high levels of practicality that Mercedes could to build into the car.
However, clever details such as side storage compartments – which contain two sets of binoculars and a digital camera on the concept car – are likely to be seen if the car goes on sale.
