If you want a posh convertible with decent seating for four, then Mercedes could well have the answer.
The manufacturer is rumoured to have a soft-top version of its S-Class luxury limousine ready for presentation at the Detroit Motor Show early next year. Our computer-generated images show how the car could look.
As well as having plenty of room for four adults, the car is expected to retain the four-door layout of the saloon, so getting in and out of the back seats should be as easy and as graceful as possible.
Mercedes won't say anything about the car, but it doesn't usually produce concepts unless it wants to push them into production. Sales could start as early as next year, but budget for at least £60,000 if you're interested.
The manufacturer is also said to be considering a two-door convertible based around the CL-Class coupe. While this would also use S-Class underpinnings, the CL would a sleeker, two-door alternative to the four-door convertible, with a starting price tag of more than £75,000.
