Mitsubishi will unveil the European version of its next-generation Outlander 4x4 at the Paris Motor Show this September.
The new Outlander will arrive in UK showrooms next spring, with a choice of 2.4-litre petrol and Volkswagen-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engines.
The car to be unveiled at Paris, and shown here in Mitsubishi's computer-generated images, will be billed as a concept, but is likely to be little different to production versions.
Expect to pay from around £17,500 to £18,000 for the Nissan X-Trail-sized Mitsubishi.
Peugeot and Citroen will use the Outlander's chassis to launch another new pair of off-roaders. Also on sale in 2007, the 4x4s will be the first true off-roaders from the French manufacturers.
