Mixed results in new Euro NCAP tests - Citroen C6

23 November 2005
Overall occupant protection 5/5 stars
Front impact 88%
Side impact 94%
Child protection 78% 4/5 stars
Pedestrian 78% 4/4 stars

This is a fantastic result for Citroen, with the first-ever maximum four-star award for pedestrian protection. When an impact is detected, the bonnet of the C6 pops up to provide greater clearance between its surface and rigid engine structures underneath.

Passengers are also very well cared for, the Citroen achieving the maximum possible five-stars in this area too. Only a slight risk of lower leg injuries in frontal impacts and chest injuries in side impacts prevented the Citroen from achieving a perfect score here.

Both of the child dummies were seated in Britax Duo Plus seats, which afforded strong protection, and the C6 only narrowly missed an overall five-star award.
