Mixed results in new Euro NCAP tests - Peugeot 407 Coupe

23 November 2005
Overall occupant protection 5/5 stars
Front impact 100%
Side impact 94%
Child protection 86% 4/5 stars
Pedestrian 42% 2/4 stars

This is a very strong overall result for the 407 Coupe, particularly in its ability to protect occupants.

A faultless performance in frontal impact tests gave the Peugeot full marks, while it only narrowly missed a perfect score in the side impact trials because of a slight risk of chest injury.

Children are also well catered for in the Peugeot, which used Britax Baby Safe and Duo Plus seats.

The Coupe also came close to winning three out of four stars for its ability to protect pedestrians. The rear and side of the bonnet did poorly, but the centre section did well.
