Mixed results in new Euro NCAP tests - Seat Leon

23 November 2005
Overall occupant protection 4/5 stars
Front impact 75%
Side impact 100%
Child protection 86% 4/5 stars
Pedestrian 67% 3/4 stars

The driver faces some risk of leg injuries in a frontal impact, but otherwise the Seat does very well generally.

Full marks were awarded in side-impact trials, with head and torso airbags providing excellent protection to front-seat occupants.

Child-protection results were also strong, with both children secured in Fair Bimbo seats.
Much of the Leon’s bonnet and bumper provided good cushioning for pedestrians, so the Seat was awarded a creditable three out of four stars for its efforts in this area. Only the leading edge and some small areas along the side of the Leon let it down.
