Seat has launched a special edition of its Ibiza supermini to celebrate winning the Best Supermini title in the What Car? Car of the Year awards for the third year running.
Called the Award, the £9000 car is £400 cheaper than the 1.2-litre five-door SX model it is based on.
Although it is cheaper, it has more equipment than an SX and includes an MP3-compatible CD stereo, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors.
The specification is otherwise identical to an SX’s and so includes 15-inch alloy wheels, remote central locking, electric front windows and twin front airbags.
Dealers will be able to offer the same kind of discounts on the Award as on any other Ibiza, as their profit margins will be the same, which means you should aim to pay a maximum of £8370 for the car.
Although there is no strict time limit on how long the Award will be offered, Seat said it would probably withdraw it when about 1000 have been sold.
