More power for Porsche Boxster

27 November 2007

Porsche has created a special limited-edition version of the Boxster, its popular roadster, which will be unveiled at the upcoming Bologna motor show.

The RS 60 Spyder draws its name from the Porsche Type 718 RS 60 that won the 12-hour Sebring race in Florida in 1960.

The Stuttgart-based firms has attempted to echo the performance of its race-winning namesake by boosting the engine output to 303bhp and fitting it with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system already used in the 911.

The interior features red leather and the bodywork is silver.

The RS 60 also features a new front spoiler, 19-inch alloys and tweaked rear lights.

First deliveries are expected in March 2008 and the price will be £5405 over the standard model, at £45,400.
