: New Extra Cab versions on sale now
: Powerful new 168bhp 3.0-litre diesel in January
: Smaller 118bhp 2.5-litre diesel also new
Toyota's Hilux pick-up is now available in two-door, four-seater format, while more powerful engines arrive in January.
The new Extra Cab model provides two additional occasional seats behind the front seats, so is not a full-blown four seater like the Double Cab.
Prices start at £17,472 including VAT, which you can reclaim if you register the Hilux through your business, so the Extra Cab is £705 more than a two-seater Single Cab model and £822 less than the Double Cab.
In a bid to keep up with the Mitsubishi L200 and Nissan Navara, Toyota will add a 168bhp 3.0-litre diesel to the range next January. Performance figures haven't yet been revealed, but it will be significantly quicker than any Hilux of the past.
It's priced from £19,822 as a Double Cab, so the 3.0-litre is £705 more expensive than the also-new 118bhp 2.5-litre engine. The Extra Cab gets the new 2.5-litre from November 1, while it will be rolled out across the rest of the range from January.
