Audi has made the TT coupe a more affordable prospect with the addition of a new entry-level 1.8-litre petrol version.
The 1.8 TFSI will be available in Sport and S line trim, and slashes the starting price of the TT coupe by more than £3000 to £24,070.
The 158bhp engine, which is already available in the TT Roadster, is still powerful enough to get the car from 0 to 62mph in just 7.1 seconds when combined with the manual gearbox.
Choose the S tronic semi-automatic 'box, and the acceleration time is shaved by a further 0.1 second, while both versions keep going to a top speed of 140mph.
Despite the healthy acceleration figures, the 1.8 TFSI coupe still manages a decent average economy figure of 44.1mpg with either gearbox.
As well as the new engine, Audi is offering the diesel version of its TT with the S tronic gearbox in both coupe and Roadster formats.
The S tronic TDI carries a £1450 price premium over its manual equivalent.
