New 2013 Mercedes C-Class range launched
The starting point for the new C-Class range is Executive SE trim, which replaces SE. Extra standard equipment includes a sports grille, 16-inch alloys, Artico (artificial leather) upholstery and LED daytime running lights, for only a £35 price increase.
Sport trim has been replaced by two trims – AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus. AMG Sport costs £960 less, while AMG Sport Plus costs £35 more than the old Sport trim and gets 18-inch alloys, xenon headlights, AMG sports seats and red seatbelts.
Mercedes has dropped the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine from the saloon and estate range, but it remains available for the C-Class Coupe.
All C180 Blue Efficiency models now come with a new 1.6-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine. It develops 152bhp and, in the saloon, averages 47.9mpg with CO2 emissions of 138g/km.
All C-Class models have an upgraded interior, with new colour options, repositioned cruise control and indicator stalks and new screen graphics.
