New 2013 VW Golf Mk7 pictures

The new 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 goes on sale in October and these are the first pictures of the all-new model, ahead of its full debut at the 2012 Paris motor show.

This seventh-generation version of Volkswagen’ big-selling model is lighter and more practical than the current car, and is available with lots of new high-tech kit.

From the outside it's business as usual, however, with a look that owes much to the models that went before it. The overall design is similar to the current (Mk6) Golf, while the treatment of the rear pillar echoes that of the Mk4 and Mk5 models.

The proportions have changed slightly, with a longer, lower body. Inside, the dashboard design is as straightforward as ever, but extra metallic trim and a new touch-screen system give a more modern look.
