Skoda has added chunkier, taller-riding Scout models to its Octavia 4x4 estate range.
Priced from £17,585 for the 150bhp 2.0-litre petrol and £19,490 for the 140bhp 2.0-litre diesel, the Scout is £1000 more than standard 4x4 models.
Although the all-wheel-drive system is unchanged, the Scout's ride height is 17mm taller than the standard 4x4, and 42mm higher than a front-wheel drive Octavia.
There's added equipment, too. Protective aluminium panels are fitted underneath, while the Scout also gets body mouldings to shrug off light knocks and larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Other features include dual-zone climate control, front and side airbags, stability control, parking sensors, CD player and cruise control.
Orders for the car will be taken from the middle of March, with first deliveries expected in April.
