New British supercar rival for Ferrari

British supercar manufacturer Ascari has previewed its Ferrari 575-rivalling model, the A10.
The Banbury-based firm, which is named after the 1950s Formula One world champion Alberto Ascari, will launch the A10 in summer 2006. Just 50 will be produced, with an expected price tag of £350,000.
Ascari has yet to release full details of the new car, but it will have a V8 engine, linked to either a manual or sequential race-car gearbox. The A10 will be built from carbonfibre to continue the racing theme, but the makers claim the car will be at home on the road, as well as the track.
Owners lucky enough to buy an A10 will also get the opportunity to enjoy the exclusive Race Resort Ascari facility in Spain. This millionaires' playground allows owners of Ascari's current model, the KZ1, to enjoy a private racetrack and holiday resort.
