New Corsa is a real high-flyer

17 July 2006

The new Vauxhall Corsa, one of the stars of this month's British International Motor Show, arrived in London in dramatic fashion this afternoon.

Rather than simply pull a cloth off the car, Vauxhall chose to suspend the new Corsa on a platform underneath a helicopter and fly it over London's Tower Bridge.

The helicopter then hovered over the Thames, outside Old Billingsgate fish market – where motor industry VIPs were gathered for the launch event, before the Corsa was flown back off over London.

The general public gets a chance to see the new car on Terra Firma at the British International Motor Show which opens at London’s ExCel Arena on Thursday. The new Corsa goes on sale in October with prices starting at £7495 going up to £13,195.

If you can't get down to ExCel, then Whatcar.com will have an exclusive reader test team video preview online next week.
